This Week in the World: Week 30

I’m so happy to be back this week! Summer is an unconventional time for all of us as our routines face constant interruptions. I hope yours has been filled with some travel, sunshine, reading by the pool or beach, trying new recipes with fresh ingredients from the farmer’s market, and plenty of life’s ordinary moments that bring you joy.

If you’re new here, ‘This Week in the World’ is a recap of content ranging from around the globe from the last week. My hope is that no matter where you are in the world, you’ll be able to feel more connected to it: through news, travel, food & wine… really, anything that appeals to the culturally curious. Let’s dive into the content I sourced for week 30.

WEEKLY FAVORITES:

  • This peach frosé was the silver lining of the oppressive heat we had here in London last week- it’s so tasty!

  • My boyfriend learned how to make the Dishoom’s Chilli Broccoli Salad. He uses Red Wine Vinegar instead or Rice Vinegar. He also only uses a small drizzle of olive oil, but uses juice from an extra lime instead. He also uses much more mint/coriander. I prefer his version!

This Week in the World: Week 21

Long time no talk! Busy season is well under way (hence my absence from “This Week in the World” the past couple of months. Since April, we’ve completed 2 Atlas Adventures trips, announced two more for the fall (and we’re heading to Greece next week for another next batch of trips!) On top of group trips, clients are traveling left and right, I’ve hired an assistant to help keep up with the demand…and I’m juggling my own personal travel (both for the sake of research and also the sake of my sanity). Life has never been busier.

It’s crazy to think that a year ago we couldn’t even dine indoor in London. I wasn’t working—instead I was finishing my dissertation for my Master’s degree to try to keep busy (and more importantly, to keep my visa!) So much has changed about the pace of daily life since then. While I’m yawning a lot more these days than I was last year, I’m so thankful that travel is back.

This Week in the World: Week 13

Hello! I’m back from a beautiful trip to Spain (pictured above!) and very excited about this week’s issue, largely because I've had my website redesigned! I'm also in the process of having an illustrator create a logo (coming soon!) and I switched to a new email provider as well. Things aren't complete just yet (this is phase 1 of the rollout) I'm still so excited to share it with you! Hope you love it as much as I do :)

This week also kicks off another season of Atlas Adventures trips! I'm heading to Paris on Friday with some friends to celebrate my birthday before the Paris crew arrives on Sunday to kick off another trip- can't wait to share along the way!

  • I added to my art collection this week with a painting from Alan Halliday / Camburn Fine Art. Halliday is a British artist who is based in the Loire Valley whose paintings are in the collections of the Victoria & Albert Museum; the Theatre Museum, The Museum of London as well as Oxford University colleges and the Folger Shakespeare Library, Washington, USA. I love the lightness and colors of his work - they make me so happy!
