Living in a London flat teaches you what actually deserves space in your life. You become a master of editorship: of your wardrobe, your furniture, and all the things in between. Everything must earn its place. I’ve become more intentional over the years about what makes it inside my wardrobe. I lean towards classic, tailored pieces that will last many seasons. As we enter the fall season, I needed to refresh a few of these everyday pieces. Here’s what I recently purchased to round out my wardrobe.
classic staples
The brand that takes up the most real estate in my wardrobe is without a doubt Sézane. I fell in love with this brand many years ago, and I keep returning to it anytime I need a wardrobe refresh. In case you missed it, I shared my favorite Sézane essentials in this blog post. For fall, I added a Gaspard sweater in ecru to my wardrobe. The Gaspard is one of my favorites and was one of my first purchases with the brand. I have it in many colors and was excited to add this neutral color. I also added the Clyde coat in a new colorway. Chocolate brown is on trend again this year, and I was looking to add this color to my fall and winter wardrobe.
I added a few pieces from the brand With Nothing Underneath that will see me through any season. I purchased the relaxed fit Weekender button-up in green that I paired with the matching boxer for a chic matching set this summer. I plan on wearing the mustard-stripe version with jeans and trousers this fall.

When I was in the States towards the end of summer, I did a bit of shopping while there and have already incorporated a few items into my early fall closet. I have heard wonderful things about Jenni Kayne from several friends, but it was previously unavailable in the UK. Luckily, they recently opened a pop-up shop in Selfridge’s. Their Mercer crewneck in camel and the Demi pants in oatmeal are perfect for the transitional season we’re in. I fell in love with the sea salt color of the oversized cashmere crewneck, and I look forward to wearing this cozy sweater later this fall and into winter.
While stateside, I also purchased a few pieces from La Ligne. The Ben cardigan has been perfect on its own and will be a great layering piece as well. For when the weather turns colder, I thought the Marin sweater in cream. I wore these Colby pants on our honeymoon, and I have a feeling I’ll be wearing them on many travel days ahead (peep them in the photo above). They’re so comfortable while also looking polished.
Transitional Footwear
I have had several pairs of Margaux shoes over the years and they’ve quickly become some of my favorite shoes. The Pointe and Woven Demi Flats are my go-to in the fall and spring seasons, so I felt confident that adding the Woven Paz would be a great addition. I went with black this time as the other pairs are in the saddle color. For summer, I love their MX Sandal and the Wrap Sandal. You really can’t go wrong with this brand! While not from Margaux, I did want a new pair of sneakers for travel days so I purchased these two-toned sneakers from Miu Miu.
